Modules for students with mandatory language proficiency requirements at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

For Bachelor’s and Master’s students at the University of Zurich who are completing a mono, major, or minor study program with mandatory language proficiency requirements at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (PhF) and need to take a language course as a compulsory module, compulsory elective module, or other requirement, the Language Center offers special modules in the following languages:

Enrollment

Enrollments for these language modules must be done via this website. They cannot be booked via the UZH module booking tool. These modules only appear on your transcript of records once they have been completed and your study results have been transmitted to your faculty at UZH.
Please note: The period for cancellations ends on the same date as the enrollment deadline. If you withdraw from a course after the enrollment deadline, you will receive a fail for the course. (There is an exception for Basic Latin; see the course description for more information.)

End of enrollment period:
21.02.2025

Choice of module

It is your responsibility to choose a language module that fits into your course of study. Make sure you choose a language module that can be accepted for credit in your study program. Depending on your study program, you can either choose from all modules or from a limited number of modules. Please refer to the following overview.
